Rambo 4 now on DVD, my review.

RAMBO

How far would you go to rescue a group of wide eyed Christians in the war torn country of Burma? In Sylvester Stallone's latest epic we find out how far the gigantic 61 year old title character would go. John J. Rambo returns in the fourth installment of the 80s franchise that turned Sly into a huge action star. The classic formula that worked two decades ago still works in today's standards.

I must admit that I've never seen any of the Rambo films, so I was walking into the theater fresh, not knowing what to expect. I was definitely amused and entertained for my dollar. This was a fun next level action film which was so violent that it bordered on horror at times. If Rambo wore a hockey mask you'd swear you were back at Camp Crystal Lake watching horny teens getting sliced, diced, minced, and finely chopped.

The storyline is a very simple one. It's not something that will bring you to the edge of your seat. It's more of a set up that straps you into your chair and throws absolute mayhem into your face. Pretty much the acting and dialogue are the same way; simple, then in your face.

This film is a definite must see for moviegoers who love gut bucket action and slasher splash horror. All that's missing is a death metal soundtrack and a mosh pit. Let the bodies hit the floor indeed.

P.S. - Do NOT bring the children.
